Park Jungwhan – New Rising Star
After beating Lee Sedol 9p in Quertelfinal of Siptan Cup, I was sure that Lee Changho 9p will defend this title for next year, but.. young Park Junghwan 3p beat him in semifinal by resignation after killing his big dragon in semeai.
Park Jungwhan had birthday tommorow so this victory, which gave him ticket to final of major tournament is great birthday gift. Park Junghwan tomorrow will celebrate his 16 birthday. In past I thought that Park Junghwan is talented young boy, too young for titles ;p Today he show that he want to be next Kang Dongyun and fight for his place in top of Korean Baduk Masters.
I check some data and found that he lost month ago in final of SK Gas Cup to Kim Kiyoung 4p. In BC Card Cup he lost to Kim Seongjae 1p in semifinal. In Baduk League he ended with score 7-7, not bad. If you add his victory over Won Sungjin 9p and Lee Changho 9p in Siptan, you will get image of new rising star in Korea. I wish him to win Siptan Cup, because it can give him good impact for his future bright baduk career.

I was also amazed that the young unknown 3p won against Lee Change Ho 9p. Another amazing news is Mok Jin Seok 9p was also defeated by Beck Hong Seok 6p. Beck 6p was finalist in 3rd Sipdan. I guess it is going to be very interesting to see who will be the Sipdan this year and it seems it will mean the winner will be the yet another new generation baduk master in Korean baduk history.
