Park Junghwan great reading skill
17 January, Baek Hongsuk 6p play against Park Junghwan 3p in final of Siptan Cup. Both player in previous matches beat all top 9p by showing that new wave of young Korean master is very strong. This first final without any top baduk master.
Game start pretty common. Both player start with standard pattern in bottom-right corner. Everything goes smoothly until Baek Hongsuk play black 31 and start big fight. Both side made little exchange. Some move latter Park Junghwan play little weird play with white 50. Back Hongsuk play 51 and Park Junghwan release his secret attack with 51. 107 moves latter after long fight Baek Hongsuk resigned. It was impressive demonstration of Park Junghwan reading skill.
Now I understand how Park Junghwan was able to kill big dragon of Lee Changho 9p in semifinal of Siptan Cup (Park Jungwhan – New Rising Star). Second game of final of Siptan Cup will be played tomorrow. I’m sure that it will be also very interesting clash.
