Kim Jiseok Uses His Chance

12 August, Kim Jiseok 5p play against Lee Changho 9p in 1st game of best-of-3 final in Prices Information Cup. Kim Jiseok by taking white stones won this game by resignation and need only one more victory to grab his first title.
Fighting Spirit vs Experience
From the start Kim Jiseok show vigor and fighting spirit. He started his own show very quickly by breaking Lee Changho strategy by ignore his approach. Few moves latter he play again far-fetched move and start big fight in upper side.
When Lee Changho settled his group in upper side, overall position seems to be to his advantage – white big group wasn’t alive yet – but instead of continuing fight he play very calm. Two moves latter he play totally opposite. Lee Changho invade very strongly on the right side, which was really weird after previous moves.
Questionable exchange
Maybe he didn’t want to follow Kim Jiseok plan all the time and start another big fight in center. After beautiful sabaki in center, Lee Changho play questionable move. He probably miss beautiful haengma at F10.
Instead, he made big exchange in bottom right corner, which can be call the source of his lost. After exchange both player start to play endgame but in the end Kim Jiseok was little ahead and after 200 moves Lee Changho resigned.
Kim Jiseok chance
Last year in Prices Information Cup Hong Sungji beat Lee Sedol 2-1 and become new title holder in Korea. This year the same chance is open for Kim Jiseok. Victory in national tournament are very important for rising stars. This give them assurance of playing in important international tournaments like Samsung Cup. The international tournaments are important, because this is the best place to play with strongest players in the world and learn a lot in very short period of time.
Amazing performance by Kim ! Lee Changho is so strong… To be followed.
