16 January 1st round of BC Card Cup was played between 64 players. Mostly professionals, but in main tournament also played 5 Korean ama players. To get to the tournament they needed to beat a lot pro in the preliminary, so they level are really huge.
16 March, Lee Changho 9p play two games against Lee Sedol 9p in KBS Cup. Before that, Lee Changho was leading 1-0 after winning first game in the final. KBS Cup is sponsored by KBS TV, so games have to be extremely fast, bacause no one will watch 3-hours games at TV Show. Lee Sedol evens the score in 2nd game of final, but in 3rd game he lost to Lee Changho.
23, 25 February Gu Li 9p play with Lee Sedol 9p in best-of-3 series final of LG Cup. Gu Li won both games and retake LG Cup after 3 years. LG Cup was his first major international title (in 2006) so this for sure bring up good memories.
