3 Jule, 20th match in 2nd GG Auction Cup was held. This time oponent for Park Jieun 9p – the last remaining member from Female team – was Seo Bongsoo 9p – after Cho Hunhyun 9p, the famous baduk veteran in Korea. This game was very important for Park Jieun, because if she won she will get extra prize for 3 straight win.
2 Jule, Park Jieun 9p met Cho Daehyun 9p in GG Auction Cup. GG Auction Cup is team tournament between female and senior teams. Park Jieun is the last hope for female team to defend title, when the senior team had Cho Daehyun 9p, Seo Bongsoo 9p, Yang Jaeho 9p, Kim Ilwhan 9p and Cho Hunhyun 9p. Last year Park Jieun won the title for femele tem by beating Cho Hunhyun by half a point but this time she need to won 6 straight games (she won first game against Choi Kyubyeong 9p by resignation).
Korean Baduk Association announced today, July’s ranking list of top 50 Korean Professionals. Lee Sedol 9p is no 1 from 9 consecutive months. Second place belongs to Lee Changho 9p but points difference is really huge: 15,055 to 13,215. I also found interesting fact on Cyberoro site: The highest ranked woman pro player in Korea is Cho Hyeyeon 7p with 51 place, so maybe in near future she will advance to top50 :)
