Xie He even Nongshim Cup record
In first part of Nongshim Cup Xie He stopped Kim Jiseok from Korea after three straight win. In second stage won 4 next games. With 5 victory he even Nongshim Cup record.
Opening was pretty complex. In middle game Kim Jiseok decided to defend one of his two weak group with black 91. I think he should rather play at N7. Next questionable move is two space extension on bottom side. Three space extension would be better.
With white 132 Xie He deliver final blow. Kim Jiseok set ko, but this was disaster. Ko was very good for white. Xie He had many ko threats, but after some position judgement decided to ignore white threat in upper left corner. Exchange was good for white and set the game for good. After 196 moves Kim Jiseok resigned.
After 2 months break Xie He play against Iyama Yuta from Japan team. In opening Iyama Yuta took influence and Xie He secure territory. In middle game Iyma Yuta unexpectedly play black 53 instead of connecting stones. In unfavourable situation Iyama show great fighting skill.
Iyama Yuta tried to back to game. Maybe too much. He again amazed me with his reading skill by making huge ko, but unfortunately he didn’t have enough ko threats and resigned after 160 moves.
In third game against Kim Seongjae, Xie He play opening from the Kim Jiseok-Xie He game. Xie started to vary with [goto move="20" label="white 20" id="3']. In result black get nice wall on left side, but white secure huge territory.
Kim Seongaje tried to use his thickness and finally set huge ko. Game become chaotic and unclear. With black 159 unexpectedly Kim Seongjae finish ko fight making game very close. Xie He play very good endgame and won the game by one and half a point after 261 moves. Kim Seongjae regreted that he didn’t continue the ko fight.
Fourth game brings change in colours in stones. In previous games Xie He took white stones but this time Yamada Kimio from Japan team guessed white stones. In opening both side play relatively thick. The first big questionable move was white 72. This move should be played in endgame.
Of course the key point of the game was white 108, when Yamada dares to cut black stones. Fight in centre was complex. Xie He luckily take upper hand after the fight. After 182 moves Yamada Kimio resigned.
In 5th game Xie He play with Yun Junsang from Korea team. Opening was interesting with few novel moves. Yun Junsang invade in upper side very strongly. Black gets nice wall but play questionable move on bottom side. Black 53 isn’t a mistake in direction?
Decision fight happened in right side. Xie He attack black big dragon, but Yun Junsang set ko. Of course Xie He ignore black ko threat and kill big black dragon. After 152 moves Yun Junsang resigned.
In 6th game Xie He took white stones again last man from Japan team – Hane Naoki. Japan didn’t won single game in 11th Nongshim Cup, so it was big surprise to see Xie He defeated. Hane Naoki play relative thick, don’t take any big risk and attack mainly for profit. This approach give him more points and forced Xie He to resigned after 235 moves.
Hane Naoki will meet Park Yeonghun tomorrow. Will he be able to get second win for Japan team?

On Firefox on a mac these go boards are not working. The stones do not appear. Then I noticed the black and white stones scattered across the whole page!
Some error is making them appear at a big distance from the board.
