Iyama Yuta won second game

16,17 September series best of seven game in 34th Meijin final was continued. This time Iyama Yuta 8d – challenger – took black stones and won the game by resignation after 255 moves. With this victory Iyama tied the result with Cho U 9p – titleholder – to 1-1.
Avalanche joseki
Game started with very rare opening with double avalanche joseki at upper side. The sequence to white 54 was more or less expected, but black decided to leave right side and go for center. If you keep in mind moves 19-22 then decision of black 55 should be natural. Cho U was forced to defend his not so strong group with 58, so maybe 54 should be instantly played at 58.
Fighting spirit
After big avalanche joseki in upper right, Iyama Yuta get sente and play important point of kakari to bottom right corner. Cho U pincered, but black again show great momentum and play black 61 and 63. Fight in corner was very complicated, but after white hane the outcome looks even. Iyama Yuta must be not content enough, because he immediately started another attack, but main part of this fight was delayed to next day. Black 79 was a sealed move.
Second day
Second day of the game started with white cap. The main fight just started. Takao Shinji 9p on his write quick post about this fight. Takao Shinji write that Cho U must had some sort of hallucination when he play white 116, because after black 127, K11 and O1 are miai points. Takao Shinji propose to play L5 instead of white 116. The situation would be still complex but much better for white.
Ko fight
Cho U is famous of his love to ko fight, but this time situation was really hard. Black settled himself very easily and when Iyama Yuta captured white 4 stones in center, overall situation looked to be to black advantages. Few moves latter Cho U resigned. 3rd game of the series will be played 24-25 September.
