Park Jieun beat Song Ronghui
1 February, Park Jieun 9p from Korea and Song Ronghui 5p from China play with each other in 1st game in last part of 8th Jeongganjang. Park Jieun won this game and give little hope Korea team to win this competition.
Park Jieun took black stones and play interesting variation of Chinese opening. After black 23, white was little painful. Song Ronghui fight like a hell on right side, but her situation was very bad.
Firstly on upper right corner Park Jieun build two ponnuki, so the game was relative easy to her after that. Secondly white only chance to catch was to use her thickness on the left side. When black makes comfortable life on left side game was practically over.
Song Ronghui resigned after 183 moves. Tomorrow Park Jieun will face Suzuki Ayumi 4p from Japan, but to win tournament she need to win also 2 next games against Chinese players. Will she able to do it?
