Korea won 8th Jeongganjang Cup
4 February, Park Jieun 9p from Korea and Li He 2p from China play in final game of the 8th Jeongganjang. Last year China won without problem, but this year teams play to very end.
In the 14th game of the tournament Park Jieun took white stone for the first time. She won previous 3 games with black stones. Li He play micro-Chinese opening on lower side, but the most interesting point of the opening was joseki in upper left corner. Li He decide to sacrifice stones and create iron wall.
White get a lot of territory and looks like Park Jieun will win the game. In late middle game there was small thrill when Li He play black 137. White group in center was in great danger, but Park Jieun fix her shape very quickly and solid her lead.
After 202 moves Li He resigned and give up title to Korea team. This year Korea take title thanks to Park Jieun, but I hope next year Korea will have stronger team than this time.
