Choi Cheolhan capture Ing Cup
23 April Choi Cheolhan won 4th final game in Ing Cup against Lee Changho and capture this important title. 4 years ago Choi Cheolhan lost in final to Chang Hao, so this time his dream of becoming Ing titleholder come true.
First big fight started with black 49. Choi Cheolhan ignore this move and start big fight on left side, which lend to big exchange. Besides territory white also get some thickness, so black extension to H17 is questionable. Black should play H16 and reduce center.
When black capture right side with black 93 game become pretty even. Most surprising Lee Changho made mistake with black 129. He should play at L14 instead. White secure a lot of territory in center and take a small but solid lead. After 184 moves Choi CheolHan won by resignation.
Choi Cheolhan made great comeback after 4 years of bad results. In national scene he won Maxim Cup and now he won biggest world tournament: Ing Cup. Choi Cheolhan earn 400.000$ for the 1st prize. 2nd prize of 150.000$ get Lee Chngho. All games of this tournament were really great. Only stepback of this final was that we couldn’t see 5th game :(
