Sun Tengyu won China-Japan Agon
9 December, Sun Tengyu and Hane Naoki play in 11th China-Japan clash between Agon Champions. This year China was represented by young unexperienced player Sun Tengyu, so Japan had more hope to win this title. Unfortunately Hane Naoki missed this opportunity and lost the game by 3,5 points.
In opening Hane Naoki play very good but in middle game show lack of spirit by playing move 76. I was sure he will play something in center to cultivate moyo there. Black grab the chance and start fight there. In endgame game becomes more and more even. Hane made huge number of mistakes in yose and finally lost the game by 3,5 point. Sun Tengyu won 11th Agon Cup and get 1st prize of 5,000,000 Yen. Hane Naoki for 2nd place get 2,000,000 Yen. It’s China seven consecutive victory in this event. Maybe in next year Japan will stop China. What do you think?
